Training

Stroud College
Stroud College works closely with local employers. It acknowledges the importance of trained workforces and the regular updating of training to keep pace with the rapidly changing environment particularly in information technology, communications and engineering. Where no appropriate training exists to fully meet the needs of a particular employer or an entire industry, Stroud College develops it.

The college has a unique partnership arrangement with NETg, the world's leading e-training company. All students and client companies now have access to the huge library or interactive computer based training.

As part of a post 16 Consortium, Stroud College has joined with Archway School and Marling School to offer students the best from each institution. Thus, the strengths and resources of each are offered to students to give them the best chance to achieve the very best. This exciting initiative has been placed before the minister as a model for national roll out.

As part of the Adults in Continuing Education and Training (ACET) consortium the college has taken the lead in promoting learning in the community. A new initiative is being developed in the Cam/Dursley area that has a steering group made up of a cross section of representatives from employers to schools. A part time co-ordinator is developing an a plan.
