Grants and funding from Stroud District Council

Stroud District Council offers grant aid to local charities, voluntary groups, individuals and other organisations in a number of different schemes. Details are outlined below.

Community Planning Grant Scheme 2011 - 2012

The Community Planning Grant Scheme is funded by Stroud District Council and is designed to help local community groups undertake one of the following:

  1. produce a new Parish or Town Plan
  2. review or update a Parish or Town Plan
  3. produce a Village Design Statement
  4. implement actions directly arising from a Parish or Town Plan

For 2011 – 2012, grants of up to £900 are available for items 1 – 3, and up to £800 for item 4.

The scheme is managed by Gloucestershire Rural Community Council (GRCC) on behalf of Stroud District Council.

The deadline for applications is 30th November 2010.

GRCC will be hosting Stroud Funding Fair on 30th September 2010 at Stroud Subscription Rooms, which will include a workshop on the grant scheme. Further details will be available soon.

The Youth Initiative Fund

The Stroud District Youth Council has it's own budget for making grant awards to young people's projects.Past grants have been for projects varying from theatre to skiing, basketball to video making and from driving to music making. Shopfront Improvement Grants

Energy Efficiency Grants

Everyone in Stroud District who owns their home or rents from a private landlord is eligible for either an Energy Efficiency Grant or a discount price through the Warm and Well Scheme. Further information can be found on the energy efficiency advice pages .
