Stroud District Council is subject to a number of statutory assessments by independent and external bodies. In recent years we have started to seek independent and external accreditation of the quality of our public facing services.
The latest statutory and most all encompassing of these assessments has been the Comprehensive Performance Assessment (CPA), carried out by the Audit Commission, for which Stroud District Council has been awarded a rating of 'Good and Improving'.
Stroud District Council has also been recognised for the quality of our pubic facing services. For example:
- Beacon Council status achieved for Crime Reduction in Rural Areas (2002/03), Services for Older People (2004/05) and Emergency Planning (2007/08)
- Website gained transactional status in the SOCITM Better Connected 2002 and 2003 survey, which is the highest rating awarded and confirms us as one of the leading District Councils in the country
- Electoral Services have achieved the Charter Mark Standard
- Plain English award for our main Revenues and Benefit application form.
This approach is something that we will continue in the future. We have also achieved and maintained standards required by Investors in People and the Eco-Management and Audit Scheme, which ensure that our services maintain a capacity to deliver and minimise their impacts on the environment.
