Stroud District Council

Apprenticeships

At the Council we're committed to offering opportunities for people and recognise the fact that apprenticeships are a good way of helping to introduce people to the working environment.

Apprenticeships are work based training programmes designed predominantly for 16-24 year olds. If you are under 20 then there are no tuition fees included in the apprenticeship. If you are over 24 then you may still be able to undertake an apprenticeship but will need to pay the full college tuition fees.

One of our corporate targets is offering up to 5 apprenticeship opportunities every year across the Council. The apprenticeships that we offer are at NVQ (National Vocational Qualification) level 2 in Business Administration and done in partnership with either Stroud or Gloucestershire College.

Apprenticeships typically last around 12 months and during that time we'll give a good grounding to you in Business Administration and you'll gain a qualification whilst at the same time gaining valuable work experience and getting paid for it.

A number of our past apprentices have progressed to develop careers with the Council.
