Stroud District Council

Advertising or sponsorship of web content

Advertising and sponsorship offers new opportunities and increased revenue to the council. However before you go any further it’s a good idea contact the web team before making any plans or commitments.

The web team will consider what type of advertising it considers appropriate for the council website. Advertisements need to be submitted for approval before publication.

Attention should be paid to the contract with the advertising provider, especially advertising and/or banners promoting products or services of a third party organisation.  The sponsor should not be a supplier of services to the authority, or someone with whom the council is currently negotiating. This will avoid any appearance of impropriety.

Linking policy and Content Usage

We will consider linking to organisations that offer a service that the web team agrees complements a council service and is of benefit to the public.

You may place a link to any of the council websites as long as you follow the advice below.

  • You must not replicate (eg, duplicate, copy or reproduce) content from Stroud District Council's websites, except where a copyright licence or permission has first been obtained.
